The God Factor

I had a dream once. It looked like this, except the word “problem” was the numerator, and the word ” answer” was the denominator. I was the little spec, and I knew that All of the white was God.

I supposed at that time, that God was telling me that in the equation of life, for every problem, there is an answer. Looking at my journey since that time, I realize that God Himself is the determining factor in the equation. For every problem, He Is the answer.

I have known many people who were born with much more potential than myself, yet they are gone, and I still remain. I know in my heart that it is because of the God Factor. I am ashamed that sometimes I question why. I am just a little spec of flesh. My journey has been hard, and the road seems so long. From day to day His Word is my strength to go on.

John 6:63

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life, (King James Version).

This year has been one of my hardest. The enemy tries to trouble me with doubt. He keeps reminding me that I am getting older now, telling me that my circumstances may never change. He was a liar from the beginning, and I choose to believe God! I know that He is a moving on God! He doesn’t just sit in one place like and idol! He has hands that move, ears that hear, and a heart that is touched with the feelings of My infirmities! He breathed on me, and I received His Spirit (John 20:22)! If God so chooses I will say along with Caleb,” I am now eighty-five years old, and I am still strong enough to take that mountain.”

The world sees this kind of faith as foolish, and that is sad. In all of it’s knowledge, the eyes of the world cannot see, nor can a worldly heart understand . The technological explosion has blown apart cultural living around the world, and idolatry has become common place. We are reminded that He is the ONLY God, and that Is our witness, (Is. 44). He Utterly voids out the signs of liars, and makes fortune tellers mad; He makes the knowledge of wise men foolish. He confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of His messengers (Is.44). He is Not as Bel and Nebo, stooping and bowing as they are carried away. Our God doesn’t need for us to carry Him, for He is the one who carries us (Is.46:1-4). Idolatry is a Big Deal! COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT SUGGESTIONS, 1st AND 2cd: You shall have No other gods before you; you shall not worship false gods. God destroyed many for this reason, and that is why His people were in bondage in Babylon.

I pondered on why God called Babylon the Virgin daughter of the Chaldeans . I am sure it was because the city was beautifully adorned, like a virgin in her coat of many colors, yet it was polluted just like its mother, referring to the Chaldean’s skillful practice in astrology (Unger, 2005). This text is a great example of the love that God has for us, and the aspect of Relationship is clearly seen. Although His children were being punished, as a father would punish his child, the Chaldeans had shown them no mercy. For this reason, when God took His vengeance, He did Not meet them as a man (Is. 47). I LOVE THAT!

He has already redeemed us, yet we put ourselves into bad situations. Sometimes we are fed with the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, but it is for our own good. When we finally get it, we toss sin aside like a dirty menstrual garment. We learn to hear his voice behind us saying, ” This is the way, Walk ye in it,” (Is.30).

Personally, my life has been a mess from the floor up, but God Loves me! He has been working on me for a long… time. He is so personal! I had been praying for provision when I ran across these words,

” From the time that it was, there I AM

I am the Lord that teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth by the way that thou shouldest go.

O that thou hadst harkened to my commandments! then had thy Peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:, (Is 48:16-22)”

As I feed on His word, I understand that this world has Nothing to offer. Looking out, I see a world that is groping in darkness, as I use to be. Most are in and out of superficial relationships because they are looking for a savior. I have learned that there is only one; that is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 17:28

For In Him we live and move and have our being;

It is the God factor that determines the equation in all of our lives.

Factor- any of the circumstances, conditions, ect. that bring about a result; element or constituent that makes a thing what it is (Websters New World dictionary, 1988).
